Bloznalis, Heilferty Earn Patriot League Weekly Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Following a pair of shutout victories, Rachel Bloznalis and Anna Heilferty were each recognized with Patriot League weekly honors, as announced by the league Monday. Bloznalis earned her second Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season, while Heilferty earned her first career Patriot League honor in being named the Rookie of the Week.
Bloznalis was instrumental in guiding BU to a pair of shutouts last week, blanking Harvard 1-0 on Wednesday before taking care of Loyola, 3-0, on Saturday. Bloznalis helped limited both Harvard and Loyola to just six shots apiece, while BU's offense got 20 shots off in each contest. The Terrier defense has allowed just one goal in Patriot League play, has limited conference foes to just 5.14 shots per game and has amassed eight shutouts on the season.
Heilferty continued her tear on the attack in netting each of BU's game-winning goals, scoring in the sixth minute against the Crimson before finding the back of the net in the 26th minute against the Greyhounds. The Falls Church, Virginia native has amassed 10 points, including four scores over the last eight games. Heilferty leads the team and all freshmen in the Patriot League with five goals and 12 points on the season.
