MILTON, Mass. - Adding to her list of postseason accolades, Rachel Bloznalis of the Boston University women's soccer team has been named the New England Soccer Journal Defender of the Year, as announced by the organization Friday.
The two-time Patriot League Defender of the Year continued to stonewall opponents offenses, guiding BU's backline to post 10 shutouts, including seven against Patriot League foes, and surrender just 0.86 goals per game.
Bloznalis collected All-Patriot League First Team and Academic All-Patriot League honors in her final season as a Terrier. The Upton, Massachusetts native also garnered national recognition as she was a Senor CLASS Award candidate and was one of 30 student-athletes in the country to be named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
