BOSTON – Coming off a four-game road trip, the Boston University men's basketball team will return home to host first-time opponent Elon on Sunday afternoon with tip-off slated for 1 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to receive a BU basketball fidget spinner giveaway. The contest marks Youth Day in which kids eighth grade and below will receive free admission. Older fans can receive a discounted ticket of $5 if they donate a children's toy.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Owning a 4-2 mark over the last six games, the Terriers are 1-2 at home so far with a win over first-time opponent Wheaton (83-48) and losses to Northeastern (65-59) and Albany (88-74).
  • After tying his season high with 20 points at UMass Lowell, senior Cedric Hankerson leads BU in scoring at 12.7 ppg ... He ranks fourth all-time in the program record book with 205 3-pointers ... Diversifying his offense, he's hit 18 2-pt. FGs in the last four games after hitting four total in the first five games of the season.
  • Sophomore Max Mahoney made his first-career start on Wednesday at UMass Lowell a memorable one with a career-high 29 pts., 11 rebs. and three blocks for hist first-ever double-double ... Over the last four games, he's averaging 18.0 ppg and 70.8 FG% ... He's currently first on the team in rebs. (5.1 rpg) and second in pts. (11.9 ppg).
  • Senior Nick Havener is the third Terrier in double figures at 10.0 ppg while averaging 5.0 rpg and a team-high 1.2 bpg.
  • Sophomore Tyler Scanlon dished out a career-high five assists against the River Hawks and now leads the team at 2.6 apg ... The Terriers are averaging 2.4 more assists a game than opponents also own a positive turnover margin of 1.1.
  • After being held to 32.3 FG% by then-No. 10 Miami, the Terriers have shot an incredible 60.2 percent over the last two games while going 16-of-36 (.444) from behind the arc ... For the season, BU is averaging 72.9 ppg and 46.1 FG% while holding teams to 74.1 ppg and 45.1 FG%.
  • Opponents are averaging eight more made free throws than the Terriers per game while shooting 74.9 percent at the charity stripe compared to the Terriers' 53.8 FT%. 
SCOUTING ELON
  • The Phoenix are 0-4 on the road with neutral wins against Florida International (95-87, 3OT) and Concordia-St. Paul (84-62) ... Elon fell at UNC Greensboro (75-44), Milwaukee (72-71), Furman (76-67) and Duke (97-68). 
  • Elon also has solid non-conference wins over Saint Peter's (71-65, 2OT), South Florida (79-78, OT) and Radford (77-740.
  • Elon is led by Preseason All-CAA First Team member and 6-foot-9 forward Tyler Seibring, who is averaging 11.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg. 
  • 6-foot-0 guard Dainan Swoope is averaging 15.7 ppg, while 6-foot-8 forward Brian Dawkins is averaging 12.8 ppg and 6.4 rpg.
  • The Phoenix are averaging 75.2 ppg and 43.6 FG% while holding teams to 73.9 ppg and 42.1 FG%.
  • Elon ranks 32nd nationally in made 3-pointers per game (10.2) but is allowing 10.4 3-pointers per game as well.
