Terriers to Conclude Calendar Year at Princeton

The Boston University women's ice hockey team will close out the calendar year with a weekend series at Princeton. Puck drop on Saturday is set for 3 p.m., with the teams to face off again on Sunday at 1 p.m.

FIRST TIME PLAYING AS THE BALL DROPS

  • This is the first time that the Terriers have played a post-Christmas game prior to New Year's Day.
  • Prior to this weekend's games, the earliest the Terriers had returned from the semester break was Jan. 2.

SERIES HISTORY

  • BU is 6-2-0 all-time against Princeton, including a 2-1-0 mark at Hobey Baker Rink.
  • This is the Terriers' first trip to Princeton since Nov. 27-28, 2009, when the teams split a weekend series.
  • BU has won five straight games against the Tigers, including a 3-2 victory in the final game of that aforementioned series in 2009.

LAST TIME AGAINST PRINCETON

  • The Terriers swept a weekend slate against the Tigers last year at Walter Brown Arena.
  • BU earned a decisive 4-1 win on Nov. 25 before erasing a 3-2 deficit in the third period en route to a 4-3 overtime victory the next day.
  • Nina Rodgers notched a goal and two assists in the 4-1 win and assisted on the overtime-winner on the 26th.
  • Abby Cook and Rebecca Leslie finished the weekend with a goal and an assist apiece.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

  • Princeton has split each of its last two weekend series, including a home-and-home with Quinnipiac on Dec. 8 and 9 that included a 3-0 home victory.
  • Junior Karlie Lund leads the team with 11 points thanks to four goals and seven assists.
  • Sophomore Carly Bullock leads Princeton with eight goals while junior defenseman Stephanie Sucharda is the top assist producer on the Tigers with 10 helpers.
  • Sophomore Steph Neatby has started all 12 games in which she has appeared, posting a 2-7-3 record with a 2.37 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage.

BACH, LESLIE ON DUTY WITH CANADA

  • Seniors Victoria Bach and Rebecca Leslie will miss this weekend's games at Princeton while away with Team Canada at the 2018 Nations Cup.
  • This year's tournament will take place in Füssen, Germany, from Jan. 3-6, 2018
  • This is the third straight year in which both Leslie and Bach have been chosen for the squad.

NEXT UP

  • BU will open 2018 with a weekend series against Maine on Jan. 6-7 at Walter Brown Arena.
