TURNING POINT

  • After holding a 4-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Terriers reeled off six straight tallies as part of an eight-goal second quarter to take a commanding 12-3 halftime lead.

STRONG IN GOAL

  • All four goaltenders on BU's roster got in the game and each made at least one save, combining for an impressive .758 save percentage (25 saves on 33 UML shots on goal).
  • Senior goaltender Christian Carson-Banister turned his second consecutive impressive performance, turning aside 14 River Hawk shots while allowing six goals.
  • Freshman Joe McSorley made his collegiate debut a memorable one as he made eight saves on nine shots in the first 11 minutes of the final quarter. Juniors Colin MacDougall (2) and Tommy Connelly (1) combined for three saves over the final four minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Terriers led wire-to-wire, scoring the game's first four goals and getting on the board at least three times every quarter.
  • After taking a 12-3 lead into the break, BU opened second half with junior Kyle Parsons' first collegiate goal for its first of three separate 10-goal leads, including the final score.
  • The River Hawks responded to the Parsons goal with three consecutive goals to make it 13-6 but that's as close as they would get the rest of the way.
  • Junior Cal Dearth scored an extra-man goal and posted game highs in both points (6) and assists (5).
  • Sophomore James Burr led all players with three goals while seniors Michael Carbone and Chad Bell and junior Jack Wilson each contributed two goals.
  • In all, 17 Terriers recorded at least one point and 13 of them notched at least one goal.

GAME NOTES

  • Bell registered his first multi-goal game as a Terrier.
  • Wilson extended his point streak to 29 games with his two-goal day
  • Junior Joe Stucky won 16 of 22 faceoffs before sophomore Andrew Pugliese made his collegiate debut, claiming four of seven.
  • Both teams went 1-of-7 on man-up opportunities.
  • Each team collected 42 ground balls. Stucky had a game-best eight while seniors Jack Beall and Greg Wozniak corralled four apiece.
  • BU recorded five times as many saves as Lowell (5).
  • The Terriers scored 18 goals on two other occasions with both coming in the 2015 season in wins over Mercer and Colgate.

NEXT UP

  • The Terriers will look to avenge last season's 16-10 home loss to the Hawks.
