BOSTON - Highlighted by a gold medal performances in the long jump by sophomore
Lovie Burleson, the Boston University women's track & field team competed in day two of the Patriot League Championships on Saturday at BU's Track & Tennis Center.
Burleson's jump of 5.84m (19' 2") gave her a second-consecutive Patriot League title in the long jump. On Sunday, Burleson will also compete in the triple jump event as the No. 1 seed.
Defending Patriot League Indoor Track Athlete of the Year
Toria Levy advanced to the finals of the 60m hurdles with the top time of 8.57. Junior
Tehya Noell (8.63) also advanced to the finals in the event along with senior
Ally Saccone (8.80) and sophomore
Kennedy Jones (8.84).
Three Terriers advanced to Sunday's finals in the 60m dash by finishing among the top nine in the prelims. Sophomore
Ebony Brown (7.82), senior
Ally Saccone (7.87) and junior
Ayodele Adesanya (7.75) will all race for medals on Sunday.
BU dominated the 200m dash prelims. Levy (24.55), Adesanya (24.64), freshman
Leah Fowlkes (24.84) and senior
Djenne Parris finished with the four fastest times and all moved on to Sunday's final.
Day 3 of the PL Championships will begin at 10 a.m. with the pole vault competition. Running events are schedule to begin at 12 p.m. with the women's 1-mile run.
