HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Bucknell opened the scoring 5:24 into the proceedings, but BU evened the score moments later when Wilson notched his first goal of the game.
  • Freshman Chase Levesque then gave the Terriers a 2-1 lead less than a minute later when he gathered senior Allen Winkoff's outlet pass, sped into the Bucknell zone and bounced a shot past Christian Klipstein (16 saves).
  • Tommy O'Connor tied the game for Bucknell with 2:41 left in the opening quarter.
  • BU got the lead back just 51 seconds into the second quarter when senior Cal Dearth drove through the defense and deposited his 15th goal of the campaign.
  • Bucknell tallied twice to take a 4-3 lead before junior Ryan Hilburn and Wilson each combined for the next two goals. Wilson found Hilburn for the first one before the roles reversed as BU earned a 5-4 lead.
  • Tom Smith and Connor O'Hara each scored for the Bison late in the quarter, however, to give Bucknell a 6-5 advantage at halftime.
  • Klipstein's 10 saves across the final 30 minutes helped Bucknell score eight straight goals, including six in the second half. The Bison held an 8-5 lead after 45 minutes before adding three goals in the last quarter, many of which came with senior Christian Carson-Banister (7 saves) not in the cage as the Terriers looked to force a turnover.
  • Wilson completed his hat trick with 46 seconds remaining in regulation to record a four-point afternoon.
