BOSTON – Coming off a three-game sweep over Holy Cross, the Boston University softball team will make the quick trek over to Boston College on Wednesday with first pitch slated for 4 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 4-9 in true road games this season with wins at then-No. 23 Florida Atlantic, defending Big West champion Cal State Fullerton, Loyola Marymount and San Diego.
  • The Terriers are batting .267 for the season after outscoring Holy Cross, 21-4, on a .375 hitting average.
  • Senior Gabi Martinez (.340 avg) collected a team-high six hits over the three games with four RBIs, while sophomore Alex Heinen (.288 avg) drove in six Terriers with the help of a three-run homer ... Both Martinez and Heinen own a team-high seen doubles and have combined for 10 homers and 44 RBIs.
  • Senior Moriah Connolly continues to lead the Terriers in hitting at .359 and ranks 11th nationally in stolen bases per game at 0.84 ... This past weekend, she became the first player in Patriot League history to reach 100 career stolen bases.
  • Junior Jilee Schanda (.287 avg.) went 5-of-11 against the Crusaders and joined Connolly in collecting two stolen bases apiece ... Sophomore Emily Morrow is fifth on the team in batting average (.268) and ranks fifth nationally as the toughest to strike out.
  • Freshman Kali Magane (6-8, 3.83 ERA) was named Turnpike Trophy MVP after she held Holy Cross to just one run in 12 innings of work with 12 strikeouts ... She is holding opponents to a .278 average.
  • Senior Makinna Akers (5-6, 3.38 ERA) collected her third complete-game performance of the season against the Crusaders and is currently holding opponents to a .293 average.
SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE
  • The Eagles entered the week with an RPI ranking of 52 having won six of their last seven games ... They are 8-3 in the ACC with weekend series wins over Louisville, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and Virginia.
  • They are batting .279 as a team and rank 41st nationally in stolen bases per game (1.64).
  • Taylor Coroneos is one of five Eagles hitting over .300 with a team-high .347 average.
  • Tatiana Cortez (.306 avg.) owns eight homers and a team-high 29 RBIs with Chloe Sharabba (.330, 6 HRs, 17 RBIs) and Jordan Chimento (.339, 4 HRs, 23 RBIs) next in line.
  • Defensively, BC owns the nation's 31st-best ERA at 2.08 and 67th-best fielding percentage (.967).
  • Jessica Dresiwck (16-6, 1.90 ERA) owns 110 strikeouts in 147.1 innings, while Jordan Weed (3-5, 2.26 ERA) owns 54 strikeouts in 52.2 innings.
SERIES HISTORY
  • BC owns a slight 24-21 advantage over BU in a series that dates back to 1988 ... The Terriers' first-ever games at the varsity level were against the Eagles.
  • The Eagles are riding a four-game win streak after the Terriers won both games in 2013 ... The teams were unable to meet in 2015 due to weather.
  • Last season, BC pulled out a 5-4 eight-inning win on the road and then returned home to defeat the Terriers, 7-2.
