The No. 18/19 Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its historic fourth season on Friday night when the Terriers take on No. 12/14 Army West Point in a Patriot League semifinal contest. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.

These two teams played a close contest at West Point on April 8, with Army edging BU, 11-10, thanks to a pair of fourth quarter goals that erased a late Terrier lead. Junior Jack Wilson scored four goals and added an assist for a five-point day in that tilt whole senior Christian Carson-Banister made 16 saves and assisted on sophomore James Burr's goal at the halftime buzzer.

BU advanced to Friday's game thanks to a convincing 10-4 win over Lehigh on Tuesday night. Sophomore James Burr scored four goals as part of a career-high five-point evening and senior Cal Dearth (3g, 2a) also recorded five points. Carson-Banister made 11 saves, and along with a stellar defensive effort, held the Mountain Hawks scoreless for a stretch of 43:47. The entire close defense unit was exceptional, as senior Dominick Calisto, sophomore Quintin Germain and senior Cam Pincus combined to keep Lehigh's starting attack unit without a single point.

The Terriers have had one of the strongest defenses in the country this season and enter Friday ranked 11th in the country in team defense at (8.33 ga/g). Army West Point also boasts a tough defense, holding opponents to just 7.85 goals per game, good for sixth in the nation. The Black Knights have allowed 10 or more goals in each of their last four games, however.

Carson-Banister is a big reason for the Terriers' stingy numbers on defense. The PL Goalkeeper of the Year enters Friday with the third-best save percentage in the nation (.600) and the 10th-lowest goals-against average in the country (7.96).

Burr has been one of the hottest offensive players for BU during its three-game win streak. Starting at attack over the last four games, Burr has tallied 12 goals and three assists for 15 points. Burr has also shot 60 percent (12-of-20) in those four tilts. He secured a career-high five points on Tuesday against Lehigh thanks to four goals and one assists, both of which matched career highs.

Army West Point had a chance at home-field advantage this weekend, but the Black Knights suffered a 14-6 home loss to Loyola Maryland on April 21. That was their second straight loss after a nine-game win streak, though the last two wins of that streak (Bucknell, BU) were both one-goal triumphs.

Dan Grabher is the PL Faceoff Specialist of the Year after going 149-of-235 (63.7%) this year, good for sixth in the NCAA. Cole Johnson leads Army in goals (25), assists (17) and points (42) while Nate Jones and David Symmes are tied for second with 28 points apiece. Johnny Surdick was a first-team all-league selection at close defense after securing 32 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers. AJ Barretto has started all 13 games in the cage, posting an 8.17 GAA and a .510 save percentage.

If the Terriers win Friday, they will advance to Sunday's championship game and face either host and top-seeded Loyola Maryland or fifth-seeded Holy Cross. The Greyhounds and the Crusaders face off Friday at 4:30 p.m.
