BOSTON – Playing outside of Massachusetts for the first time this season, the Boston University men's basketball team will open its longest road trip since 2004 with a visit to former America East rival Albany on Wednesday night with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m.

The Terriers (2-1) in total will visit six teams in six different states, starting with the Great Danes (0-1) in New York and followed by Eastern Michigan (3-0) on Saturday. Both squads will present challenges to a young BU squad featuring just one senior, as they are coming off 20+ win seasons.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU will try to win its first two road games of the season for the first time since winning at Bucknell and Northeastern in 2008-09 ... The Terriers rallied a week ago to dispatch the CAA preseason favorite Huskies, 77-74, for their first victory at Matthews Arena since 2008.
  • BU followed up with a hard-fought 78-72 loss to America East preseason favorite Vermont and 94-57 win over Emerson for the two-game homestand split.
  • Juniors Tyler Scanlon (16.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg) and Max Mahoney (15.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg) are averaging a combined 31.5 ppg and 13.5 rpg after combining for 14.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg through the first two games of 2017-18.
  • Sophomore Javante McCoy is the third Terrier averaging double figures at 10.0 ppg while averaging a team-high 4.0 apg.
  • 12 Terriers are averaging at least 11 minutes per game through the first three contests, and that list doesn't include 2018 PL All-Rookie honoree Walter Whyte, who's yet to see action due to injury.
  • Freshman Jack Hemphill posted the team's first double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds against Emerson.
  • Freshman Fletcher Tynen is a near-perfect 10-of-13 (.769) to start the season from the field, as BU is shooting 49.2 FG% through three contests while holding opponents to 40.2 FG%.
SCOUTING ALBANY
  • The Great Danes last season went 22-10 with a 14-3 home mark featuring notable wins over Yale, Kent State Colgate, Columbia and Canisius.
  • Albany unveiled four new starters on Friday in a tightly-contested 72-68 loss at Iona.
  • 6-foot-6 forward and 2018 All-AE Defensive Team honoree Devonte Campbell is the top returning player after averaging 6.7 ppg and 3.7 rpg ... He posted a double-double (17 pts., 10 rebs.) against the Gaels on Friday.
  • 6-foot-1 guard Ahmad Clark tallied 21 points, while 6-foot-3 guard Cameron Healy posted 14 points, as Albany shot 21-of-58 (.362) against Iona's 25-of-57 (.439) performance.
  • The Great Danes kept the game close with an 11-6 advantage in made 3-pointers.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Terriers are 19-9 all-time against the Great Danes with all but the 2015 and 2017 matchups occurring in America East action.
  • Albany snapped a 10-game losing streak to BU with an 88-74 win at Case Gym last season ... Only 48 combined points though are back from that contest.
  • BU is visiting SEFCU Arena for the first time since escaping with an 85-80 win in 2013, as D.J. Irving ('14) drained two 3-pointers in the final nine seconds of regulation to send the game to overtime.
