BOSTON – Trailing until the final minute of the game, the Boston University women's basketball overcame a seven-point deficit in the third quarter to earn a 67-65 comeback victory Tuesday night at Case Gym.

Nia Irving muscled in a layup with just over a minute to go before
Katie Nelson hit a runner in the paint with 29 seconds left for the game-winning basket.
Payton Hauck exploded for 20 points, scoring 16 of those in the second half, and connected on 8-of-10 from the floor on the night. Irving just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds, and Nelson contributed 13 points and four assists.
How It Happened
- Bryant got two fastbreak layups to start the game until BU reeled of a 6-0 run to take the lead, though the Bulldogs held the edge, 14-11, at the end of the first quarter.
- Riley Childs connected from beyond-the-arc for her first career points, tying the game up at 19-all three minutes into the second.
- The Bulldogs used an 11-5 run to match its largest lead of the half, taking a six-point advantage with just over two minutes remaining in the half.
- BU stormed back to close the frame, as Hauck grabbed a rebound and went coast-to-coast, while Irving and Nelson used the charity stripe to cut the deficit to 30-29 heading into the locker room.
- Both teams went back-and-forth through the third until the Bulldogs used 7-2 run midway to pull ahead, 46-49.
- Lauren Spearman shifted the momentum with a triple in transition before Hauck converted an and-1 to make it a one-possession game, 48-45, with 2:38 left.
- Chiarra Tibbitt hit on four straight from the charity stripe to end the quarter as the Terriers headed into the fourth trailing by two points, 53-51.
- Hauck continued to keep BU in the game, banking a jumper off the glass to keep it a one-possession game, 59-56, with seven minutes left.
- The Terriers continued to fight down the stretch, finally breaking through with 1:24 left to tie it up at 65-all after Irving muscles in a layup off a timeout.
- Nelson capped the comeback by driving from the top of the wing and banked a running shot to give BU its first lead since the first quarter.
