Closson Named to Scholar All-East Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Closing her four-year collegiate career with another standout season, Boston University women's soccer senior Libby Closson has been named to the 2018 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-East Region Team, as announced by the organization Monday.
Serving as a team captain this past season, Closson played an integral role in guiding the Terriers back to the top of the Patriot League, as the team won their fourth Patriot League title and made their 14th NCAA Tournament appearance. The senior defender guided the backline to 11 shutouts and a miniscule 0.86 goals against average.
After being named to the Patriot League All-Tournament Team last season, Closson finished her 2018 campaign by being named to the All-Patriot League Second Team. She has been a starter on the defense in each of the last three seasons and ranked fourth on the team with 1,547 minutes played this season.
Owning a cumulative 3.32 GPA, Closson will graduate with a degree in human physiology from Sargent College this May.
