The Boston University men's lacrosse team will continue its 2018 season on Tuesday night when the Terriers travel to Smithfield, Rhode Island, for a midweek clash with Bryant. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR

  • The Terriers and Bulldogs met for the first time last February at Nickerson Field, with BU earning a 12-9 victory.
  • Ryan Hilburn led BU with two goals and two assists for four points.
  • BU led, 6-2, at halftime, but Bryant scored three times in the third quarter to make it a one-goal game entering the final 15 minutes.
  • The Terriers never let Bryant pull even, however, and eventually earned an 12-7 lead before the Bulldogs tacked on two late goals.
  • BU was 16-for-17 on clears and committed just 10 turnovers.
  • Jack Wilson tallied three goals while James Burr added two goals and an assist.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

  • Bryant improved to 2-2 with a 15-10 win at Hartford on Saturday afternoon.
  • That win snapped a two-game losing streak, as Bryant lost to both Providence and Bucknell.
  • Senior Cam Ziegler leads Bryant with 15 points thanks to a team-high seven assists.
  • Freshman Marc O'Rourke has scored a team-high nine goals and is second to Ziegler with 13 points.
  • Graduate student Kenny Massa has won 65.3 percent of faceoffs this year (66-of-101) and has gathered 46 ground balls.
  • Sophomore Zach Coffey leads the Bryant defense with five caused turnovers and nine groundballs.
  • Junior goalkeeper Kevin Beimfohr made his first start of the season on Saturday at Hartford, making seven saves.
  • Senior James Werner has started the other three tilts, posting a 10.82 goals-against average and a .439 save percentage.

MAN-DOWN DEFENSE DOING WORK

  • The Terriers are a perfect 7-for-7 in man-down situations this year.
  • They are the only team in the Patriot League and one of just four teams in the country to remain perfect against EMOs this year.

NOT BAD UP A MAN EITHER

  • BU also boasts a top-10 man-up unit in the country, as the Terriers are 5-of-9 (.556), good for seventh overall.
  • That mark is second in the Patriot League, only behind Lehigh (8-of-12).

NEXT UP: AIR FORCE

  • BU will head to Colorado Springs, Colorado, for a game against Air Force on Saturday, March 3.
  • Game time is 2 p.m. ET.
