The Boston University men's lacrosse team will look to clinch a Patriot League postseason berth on Friday when the Terriers travel to Holy Cross for a Turnpike Trophy tilt. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

WIN AND WE'RE IN

  • BU controls its own destiny for the Patriot League postseason, as a victory ensures the Terriers will be part of the six-team field.
  • The Terriers cannot advance to the playoffs with a loss.
  • If BU and Colgate both win, the Terriers will finish sixth, while a Colgate loss coupled with a BU win means the Terriers will take fifth.
  • BU can play either Bucknell, Lehigh or Loyola as the sixth seed, while Bucknell and Lehigh are the only two possible opponents if the Terriers are fifth.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR

  • The Terriers clinched home field for the 2017 Patriot League Tournament thanks to a thrilling 12-11 overtime win over Holy Cross on April 21 at Nickerson Field.
  • Hayden Ruiz tied the game with 1:48 remaining in regulation before Cal Dearth notched the OT winner.
  • James Burr notched four goals while Jack Wilson added two assists.
  • Brendan Homire also found the back of the net and Joe Stucky went 14-of-27 at the faceoff X.

SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS

  • Holy Cross started the conference schedule 0-5, but two straight wins over Lafayette and Colgate have the Crusaders in prime position for a postseason berth.
  • The Crusaders erased a 10-7 lead with just 3:39 to play, scoring the final five goals of the game, to defeat Colgate, 12-10.
  • Sophomore Kevin Kodzis leads Holy Cross in goals (20) and points (26) while senior Logan LeBlond has dished out a team-high 10 assists.
  • Sophomore Dan O'Connell has won 56.5 percent of his faceoffs (140-of-248) and leads the Crusaders with 57 ground balls.
  • Junior defender Matt Farrell has forced 17 turnovers this season.
  • Sophomore Jonathan Tesoro, who started last year's contest at BU, has started all 12 games in the cage this season.
  • He owns a .454 save percentage and an 11.02 goals-against average.

HISTORY WITH HOLY CROSS

  • The Terriers are 2-2 all-time against the Crusaders, including a 9-8 victory in Worcester to close out the 2014 Patriot League schedule.
  • Three of the four games have been decided by two goals or fewer.
  • Friday's game will be the third time in four seasons that BU can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Holy Cross.

GRAY ADDED TO TEWAARATON WATCH LIST

  • Freshman Chris Gray was added to the 2018 Tewaaraton Men's Watch List on April 12.
  • He joins senior Jack Wilson on the prestigious list.
  • Gray leads all NCAA rookies in both points (54) and assists (32).
  • He is eighth overall in assists and 15th in the nation in points.
  • Gray has also tallied 22 goals in his impressive rookie campaign.
  • The Wading River, New York, native has recorded at least one point in all 13 games this year and has notched at least two points in 12 of those tilts, including nine consecutive contests.
