MANCHESTER, Conn. - After dropping the doubles point, the Boston University men's tennis team rallied in singles action to claim a 5-2 victory over UConn on Sunday afternoon at the Magic Lincer Tennis Academy.
By avenging last year's 4-3 loss to the Huskies, the Terriers (11-9) match their earlier season-high four-match win streak and now own their most victories since going 12-11 in 2006-07.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Huskies won all three doubles matches for the first point but needed to edge the Terriers in two tiebreakers to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
- BU won four of its five singles contests in straight sets.
- Freshman Pete Siozios (#6) dropped the fewest games with a 6-3, 6-0 victory.
- Freshman Owen Lu (#2) dropped the next fewest at four (6-2, 6-2), while classmate Pedro Gutierrez rolled to a 6-2, 6-3 win at line 3.
