Farabee Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After helping the Boston University men's ice hockey team put together a unbeaten three-game week to kick off the second half, freshman forward Joel Farabee has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Farabee, who returned to campus on Monday after claiming a silver medal with Team USA at World Juniors, promptly scored the game-tying goal in a 2-2 draw at Harvard on Tuesday before tallying the game-winning goal and adding two assists in a 5-2 home victory over New Hampshire on Friday. The three-point performance was a career high.
On Saturday, Farabee chipped in an assist in a 4-3 road win over No. 7/8 Providence to give him five points (2g, 3a) on the week to help BU extend its unbeaten streak to five (4-0-1), the longest of any team in New England currently.
Farabee is tied for second on the team in points this season with 16 on six goals and 10 assists. Thirteen (3g, 10a) of his 16 points have come in league play.
This is the first Hockey East weekly honor of Farabee's career.
