Davidson Upends Men's Tennis, 7-0

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Concluding a two-match road trip down south, the Boston University men's tennis team fell at Davidson, 7-0, on Friday evening.

The final score was not indicative of the Terriers' (0-2) gritty effort, as the Wildcats (1-0) had to win three three-setters and two tiebreakers in a fourth singles match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore David Bogatin and freshman Max Hartenstein owned a 4-3 advantage at No. 1 doubles when their match was halted due to the Wildcats winning the other two contests by a combined score of 12-2 for the first point.
  • The Wildcats opened singles action by capturing their next two points in quick fashion at lines 2 and 4 by dropping just six total games.
  • Bogatin (#1), Hartenstein (#3) and junior Marc Sable (#5) all won the first set in their respective match, but Davidson rallied to defeat all three for the team victory.
  • Sophomore Pete Siozios battled Davidson to a tiebreaker in each set before coming up just short, 7-6, 7-6.
NEXT UP: BROWN
  • The Terriers will next visit Brown on Sunday (Jan. 20) with a 10 a.m. start time.
  • The Bears posted a 7-0 win last season, capturing all six singles points in straight sets.
