MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Looking to carry momentum from a program history-making eight-point win at South Carolina, the Boston University men's basketball team will continue the Cancun Challenge with its first-ever visit to West Virginia on Friday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Tuesday's victory against the Gamecocks marked BU's first-ever win against the Southeastern Conference ... The Terriers are 0-3 against the Big 12 conference since its formation in 1994-95 and 0-7 all-time against the active members in the Big 12 following an 82-46 loss at Texas in 2011-12.
  • After tallying 20 points in last Saturday's 84-70 home win over New Hampshire and 17 at South Carolina, junior Javante McCoy is second on the team in scoring at 11.2 ppg alongside senior Max Mahoney, who owns a team-high 7.0 rpg.
  • McCoy also had five assists against the Gamecocks, while sophomore Alex Vilarino (9.2 ppg) recorded six helpers.
  • Sophomore Walter Whyte remains the team leader in scoring at 16.4 ppg after posting eight points and eight rebounds on Tuesday.
  • Sophomore Jonas Harper (8.0 ppg) opened each half with a 3-pointer en route to 13 points.
  • BU had one previous meeting with current WVU head coach Bob Huggins ... He guided then-top seed Cincinnati to a 90-52 victory over the Terriers in the opening round of the 2002 NCAA tournament.
  • The Terriers are averaging 73.4 ppg and 45.4 FG% while holding opponents to 67.4 ppg and 44.0 FG%. 
SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA
  • The Mountaineers are 2-0 at home with a 94-84 win over Akron and 69-61 victory against Northern Colorado ... They also claimed a 68-53 victory at Pittsburgh.
  • Through three games, WVU is averaging 77.0 ppg and 44.6 FG% while holding opponents to 66.0 ppg and 35.3 FG%.
  • 6-foot-7 guard Jermaine Haley averages a team-high 12.7 ppg with 8.7 rpg while shooting 73.7 percent from the field ... Both 6-foot-7 forward Emmitt Matthews (12.0 ppg) and 6-foot-10 forward Derek Culver (11.0 ppg) also averaging double figures.
  • Besides nearly averaging a double-double at 9.7 ppg and 9.7 rpg, 6-foot-9 forward Oscar Tshiebwe also owns a team-high four blocks.
