BOSTON – Behind a lethal 3-point attack, the Boston University women's basketball team got back in the win column with a 74-56 decision over Dartmouth Saturday afternoon at Case Gym.
Katie Nelson tied the program's single-game 3-point record, connecting on 7-of-10 attempts from beyond-the-arc. The Terriers also tied the single-game 3-point team record, hitting on 16-of-24 attempts.
How It Happened
- Nia Irving put in the first basket before Maggie Pina drilled back-to-back 3-pointers, forcing Dartmouth to burn an early timeout just two minutes into action.
- Annabelle Larnard and Nelson kept the Terriers torrid from 3-point range, connecting on back-to-back makes to push the lead to 16-7 at the five-minute mark.
- Pina kept the momentum on BU's side, starting the second stanza off with her third triple to put the Terriers in command, 27-14.
- Dartmouth started to inch closer, peeling off a 9-5 run to cut the gap to 34-24 with just under two minutes left in the half.
- Sydney Johnson powered her way to the basket for a crafty layup before Larnard netted another 3-pointer, maintaining the Terriers' 10-point cushion, 39-29, at the break.
- Pina picked up where she left off to start the third, hitting two straight 3-pointers, while Larnard and Irving helped push out an 11-5 streak.
- Once again, the Big Green came within a 10-point margin with a minute left in the third, but Nelson hit a corner 3-pointer to make it 56-43 BU at the end of the frame.
- Nelson put in another pair from beyond-the-arc to start the fourth, giving the Terriers a commanding 62-45 advantage.
- The duo of Nelson and Pina combined for all 18 of BU's points in the fourth quarter as the Terriers cruised to an 18-point victory.

- Nelson and Pina each notched 24 points, while each additionally connected on 8-of-12 from the field.
- Nelson's seven 3-pointers tied with Katie Meinhardt '07, Alex Young '12 and Sarah Hope '17 for the single-game record.
- Saturday marked the first time since Jan. 6, 2017 where BU shot above 60.0 percent from 3-point range.
- Riley Childs grabbed 12 rebounds to set a new season high.
- Johnson led the Terriers with seven assists as the team set a season high with 21 helpers.
- BU posted its best shooting performance of the season, hitting on 52.0 percent (26-for-50) from the floor.
- The Terriers won their first game against Dartmouth in five tries and additionally picked up their first win at Case Gym this season.
