Hockey East Names Zegras Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week
December 9, 2019 | Men's Ice Hockey
WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After helping the Boston University men's ice hockey team close out the first half with a pair of home wins against ranked Beanpot rivals, Trevor Zegras has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Zegras opened the scoring in a 5-2 victory over No. 12/9 Harvard on Tuesday before recording three assists on Saturday to lead the Terriers to a 6-3 triumph against No. 8/12 Northeastern.
The Beford, New York, native heads into the break with 17 points on five goals and 12 assists. He is the only Hockey East freshman averaging over a point per game and one of only four rookies nationally to currently be at that mark.
This is the second time this season that Zegras has earned the weekly rookie honor from Hockey East.
