BOSTON – Looking to carry momentum from Monday's sweep over in-state rival Holy Cross, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Loyola Maryland on Saturday with tip-off slated for 4:30 p.m. The contest will take place after women's basketball hosts Navy at 2 p.m.

With three games remaining, the Terriers are currently tied for ninth in the Patriot League standings but are only two games behind three schools that are tied for fourth. The top six squads receive a first round bye for the upcoming PL tournament.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Junior Max Mahoney earned his sixth double-double of the season at Holy Cross and currently leads the Terriers at 16.5 ppg and 6.2 pg while ranking 14th nationally at 62.1 FG%.
  • Freshman Jonas Harper became the fourth Terrier to reach 20+ points this season with a game-high 22 points against the Crusaders ... He flushed six of BU's season-high 14 3-pointers and is now shooting 49.2 percent from behind the arc.
  • Junior Tyler Scanlon dished out a career-high eight assists and is now averaging 5.8 assists over the last four contests ... For the season he is averaging 13.7 ppg and 5.2 rpg with a team-high 1.2 spg.
  • Sophomore Andrew Petcash (4.8 ppg) has started the last two games and is 16-of-33 (.484) in 3-point territory over the last seven contests.
  • BU is 5-7 at Case Gym with home wins over PL leader Bucknell (87-80) and Holy Cross (68-54).
  • The Terriers are averaging 47.0 FG% and 72.0 ppg while holding teams to 46.6 FG% and 72.0 ppg.
SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYLAND
  • The Greyhounds are 6-9 in conference play with two wins in the last three games against Navy (79-70) and American (86-84) with the loss coming against Lafayette (69-64) ... Loyola owns three OT wins against BU, Holy Cross and Colgate.
  • Overall, Loyola is 4-13 away from home with wins against American, Holy Cross (67-65 OT), Binghamton (83-65) and Hampton (75-66) ... The Greyhounds fell at UMass Lowell (97-79) after the River Hawks lost at BU, 79-60.
  • 6-foot-4 guard Andrew Kostecka is averaging a PL-high 21.4 ppg while averaging 5.0 rpg, 2.6 spg and 2.5 apg.
  • Both Chuck Champion (11.4 ppg) and Brent Holcombe (11.0 ppg) also average double figures in points with Holcombe posting a team-high 6.0 rpg.
  • The Greyhounds average 73.0 ppg and 45.8 FG% while holding opponents to 77.9 ppg and 48.4 FG%. 
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Terriers lead the all-time series, 9-6, after dropping an 81-73 overtime decision at Reitz Arena.
  • BU is 6-0 at home against the Greyhounds with a 2017 PL quarterfinal victory ... Mahoney totaled 27 points with seven rebounds in a 64-55 win on Jan. 31, 2018.
  • In the last meeting, Mahoney recorded a personal-best 31 points, but Kostecka had 28 to help Loyola rally from a 13-point first-half deficit to send the game to OT ... The Greyhounds outscored BU off turnovers (27-16), on second-chance points (18-6) and in made free throws (23-12).
