BOSTON - Highlighted by another record-breaking performance by senior
Sarah Cicchetti in the weight throw, the Boston University men's and women's track & field teams continued their indoor season by hosting the Last Chance Meet at the TTC on Sunday, the final day of the season for athletes to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
Cicchetti broke her own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 17.97 meters (58'11.4"), breaking the record of 17.66 meters (57'11.25") she set at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Jan. 25.
Needing to finish with one of the top 16 performances in a given event in order to qualify for the NCAA Championships, no Terriers were able to qualify for nationals on the day.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Senior Sarah Cicchetti broke her own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 17.97 meters (58'11.4"), breaking the record of 17.66 meters (57'11.25") she set at the John Thomas Terrier Classicon Jan. 25.
- Also in the field, junior Sarah Chow finished fourth in the pole vault with a vault of 3.36m while junior Zoe Beard took sixth (3.21m).
- Sophomore Bridget Bishop took fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.91 meters.
- Freshman Anna Foreman competed in the 400m dash and finished 23rd in a field of 47 with a time of 58.03.
- On the men's side, junior Chiebuka Onwuzurike competed in the 60m dash and advanced to the finals with a time of 6.90. In the finals, Onwuzurike finished third in the finals with the same time of 6.90.
- Sophomore Nikolas Smith competed in the 400m dash and finished 25th with a time of 49.28 while junior Jamin Harris finished with a time of 51.96.
RECORD BREAKERS
- Genna Westaway of Team Guelph, ran an amazing 1:59.87 in the 800m run, breaking the Canadian record in the event.
- In the men's mile, Nanami Arai of Team Honda, broke the Japanese national indoor record with an amazing time of 3:56.60, one of five sub 4 minute miles run in the first heat.
- In the final event of the meet, Edward Cheserek of Team Skechers competed in the 5000m run and finished with a worlds qualifying time of 13:08.05.
