BOSTON – Following a two-week break, the Boston University softball team will put its five-game win streak on the line at No. 14 University of Arkansas' Wooo Pig Classic starting Friday morning against Northwestern State.

The Terriers will also face Razorbacks in a Saturday doubleheader along with Nebraska-Omaha (Friday) and Nevada (Sunday).

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is riding a five-game win streak after sweeping all four games at the Upstate Classic against Bowling Green and UConn by a combined score of 29-9 and posting an 8-2 win against Rider at College of Charleston's Kickin' Chicken Classic.
  • The Terriers are hitting .311 while holding opponents to .218 with a 12-6 advantage in extra-base hits.
  • Named Patriot League Player of the Week following her performance at the Upstate Classic, senior Emily Morow is hitting .455 with 10 RBIs with sophomore Marina Sylvestri (.409 avg.), sophomore Jen Horita (.375 avg.), and freshman Aliyah Huerta-Leipner (.357 avg.) all hitting over .350.

Freshman and former PL Rookie of the Week Emily Gant (1-2, 1.47 ERA) owns a complete-game shutout alongside DuBois with a save by recording 12 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
  • BU will have two chances to beat No. 14 Arkansas for their first win over a ranked opponent since upsetting then-No. 1 Oklahoma, 4-3, in 2018 ... The Terriers fell to then-No. 8 Tennessee, 4-0, back on Feb. 9.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS

Northwestern State, 8-6 (Friday, 11 a.m. ET)
  • The Lady Demons will open the tournament on Thursday evening against host Arkansas and Nebraska-Omaha after sweeping all four games at its own tournament last weekend by a combined score of 31-4 ... They won two games apiece against Houston Baptist and Arkansas - Pine Bluff.
  • NSU won two games earlier against Fairleigh Dickinson by a combined score of 11-1 and also collected a 9-5 win against Boston College and 3-2 victory over Boise State ... Four of the losses occurred at North Texas' tournament with Seton Hall claiming two wins by a combined score of 9-6.
  • NSU enters the tournament batting .244 while holding opponents to .216 with a 22-8 advantage in stolen bases.
  • Kaitlyn St. Clair is hitting a team-high .341 with seven RBIs while Alexis Perry (.325 avg.) owns two homers and 10 RBIs ... Riley Cantrrell (.250 avg.) owns a team-high 14 RBIs wih a homer, triple and double.
  • Samantha Guile (2-3, 2.26 ERA) is holding opponents to .200 with 26 strikeouts in 31.0 innings, while Bronte Rhoden (4-0, 2.47 ERA) is holding opponents to .170 with nine strikeouts in 281. innings.

  • The Mavericks opens the tournament against Arkansas in the first game of the tournament Thursday afternoon.
  • Omaha earned its lone win against Buffalo, 5-2, back on Feb. 16 and has dropped a couple of close decisions to Nebraska (4-3) and Lamar (7-5).
  • Omaha is hitting .225 while holding opponents to .350 ... Savannah Fisher is the lone Mav above .275 at .353 with two RBIs, while Emma Dargy (.200 avg.) owns two doubles and team-high five RBIs.
  • Sydney Hampton (0-4, 7.18 ERA) owns 16 strikeouts in 25.1 innings, while Ryanne Millington (1-3, 6.42 ERA) has tallied nine strikeouts in 24.0 innings against 18 walks.
  • The Terriers and Mavs will meet for the first time in program history.
#14 Arkansas, 12-3 (Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET and 6:45 p.m. ET)
  • The Razorbacks went 42-17 last season ... They swept their regional by a combined score of 13-4 and then fell at No. 4 Oklahoma in the Super Regional by a combined score of 16-2.
  • Arkansas owns four run-rule victories against IUPUI, SIU Edwardsville, Northern Colorado and Campbell with losses to No. 5 Washington (3-2), Southeast Missouri (6-1) and Drake (3-1).
  • Arkansas is batting .333 with a 44-16 advantage in extra-base hits while holding opponents to .209.
