BOSTON – Seeking its first sweep of the year, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit two-time defending Patriot League champion Bucknell on Saturday with tip-off slated for 12 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is currently 6-7 on the road this season following last Saturday's 76-68 win at Colgate that snapped a two-game road losing streak (94-78 at Lehigh and 81-73 OT at Loyola Maryland). 
  • In Wednesday's 79-72 home loss to Lafayette, junior Tyler Scanlon recorded a career-high 28 points with a team-high seven rebounds ... He is second on the team in both scoring (13.9 ppg) and rebounding (5.4 rpg).
  • Scanlon sits at 903 career points, just 97 away from the 1,000-point milestone with classmate Max Mahoney (16.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg) close behind at 886 points ... Sophomore Javante McCoy recent eclipsed 500 points and is third on the team in scoring at 10.8 ppg.
  • Redshirt-freshman Alex Vilarino has started all 11 conference games and is averaging 8.4 ppg while shooting 82.8 FT%.
  • BU ranks 41st nationally at 47.6 FG% and has heated up from behind the arc the last three games, shooting combined 25-55 (.455) to increase its season 3FG% to .330.
  • The Terriers are averaging 72.0 ppg and holding opponents to 71.7 ppg, though PL teams are averaging 76.7 ppg.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
  • After posting a 15-1 home record last season with the lone loss occurring against the Terriers, Bucknell has claimed a 6-3 mark this season with a 5-0 mark against the PL.
  • The Bison have won the last three games, all by double-digits, vs. Navy (69-57), at Lafayette (94-66) and at Loyola Maryland (84-72) following a 76-68 loss at American.
  • 2018 Preseason All-PL forward Nate Sestina is nearly averaging a double-double at 16.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg, while 2017 All-PL Third Team guard Kimbal Mackenzie is averaging 16.7 ppg and 3.1 apg.
  • Guard Jimmy Sotos is fourth in scoring at 8.9 ppg and ranks 22nd nationally in assists (6.0 apg). 
  • While ranking 307th nationally in steals per game (5.0), the Bison own the 63rd best assist-turnover ratio (1.24).
  • Bucknell is averaging 77.0 ppg in conference play while holding opponents to 71.4 ppg.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Bucknell leads the all-time series, 12-5, with the Bison winning the first-ever meeting in 2005 at a neutral site in California.
  • The Terriers have won two of the last three meetings, including most recently an 87-82 wire-to-wire victory on Jan. 5 ... Mahoney tallied 26 points and a career-high 14 rebounds for the win ... Bucknell lost despite posting a 53.4 FG% and holding BU to 47.8 FG%.
  • Last season, the Terriers recorded a split at Sojka Pavilion with an 84-79 regular season win and then 90-59 loss in the PL semifinals.
