BOSTON – After honoring senior and tri-captain Kamali Chambers, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Navy on Saturday with the regular season finale set to begin at 12 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Currently riding a season-tying three-game win streak, BU is tied-for-sixth in the Patriot League standings at 7-10 alongside Lafayette and Navy ... The Terriers need a win over the Midshipmen along with a Lafayette loss to Colgate (12-5) or American (8-9) win at Holy Cross (6-11) to clinch the No. 6 seed and first-round bye for next week's PL tournament ... If BU loses to Navy, it will host either Holy Cross (6-11) or Loyola Mayland (6-11) on Tuesday night.
  • Coming off a game-high 28-point and team-high six-rebound performance in Wednesday's 84-82 win at Lafayette, junior Max Mahoney leads BU in both categories at 16.7 ppg and 6.5 rpg while ranking 14th-nationally at 62.4 FG%.
  • Mahoney is just 12 points away from becoming the 37th Terrier to reach the 1,000-point milestone, while junior Tyler Scanlon (13.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg) is 20 points away.
  • After hitting what proved to be the game-winning free throws at Lafayette, sophomore Javante McCoy is third on the team at 11.2 ppg ... Redshirt-freshman Alex Vilaino is averaging 8.5 ppg in conference play to help the offense.
  • Reigning PL Rookie of the Week Jonas Harper and sophomore Andrew Petcash are combining for 12.1 ppg and 47.5 3FG% in league play.
  • The Terriers are 3-5 at home against PL competition with wins over two-time defending champion Bucknell, Holy Cross and most recently Loyola Maryland.
  • BU is averaging 72.4 ppg and 47.7 FG% while holding opponents to 72.1 ppg and 46.7 FG%.
SCOUTING NAVY
  • Coming off a 64-53 home win over Bucknell, the Midshipmen are tied-for-sixth in conference play at 7-10 with a 1-7 road mark ... The lone win occurred at Lafayette (85-77) back on Jan. 16.
  • 6-foot-7 forward George Kiernan is averaging a team-high 12.4 ppg and 5.3 rpg while shooting 38.0 percent from the field.
  • 6-foot-0 guard Hasan Abdullah (4.4 apg) is next on the team at at 10.5 ppg with 6-foot-1 guard Cam Davis close behind at 9.6 ppg ... 6-foot-8 center Evan Wieck (8.1 rpg) and 6-foot-4 guard John Carter Jr. (8.4 ppg) are averaging a combined 10.6 rpg.
  • The Mids are only averaging 66.1 ppg and 40.1 FG% but rank 49th nationally at 38.1 rpg while holding teams to 72.9 ppg, 44.8 FG% and 34.4 rpg.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Owning a 10-3 advantage in the all-time series, BU won the first-ever meeting in the 1959 NCAA tournament in overtime in Charlotte, North Carolina, to reach the Elite Eight.
  • The Terriers improved to 6-0 at Alumni Hall with a 75-69 come-from-behind win back on Jan. 12 ... BU trailed, 42-28, with 15:53 left and was tied at 3:31 (61-61) ... Mahoney scored 19 of his game-high 22 points in the second half, including go-ahead jumper at 3:10, and Navy missed three straight 3FG attempts following his made field goal.
  • The Midshipmen have won three straight at Case Gym ... In the 62-48 home loss last season, BU was held to 37.8 FG% with 16 turnovers after shooting 55.6 FG% in the 75-68 road win.
