FIRST-YEAR SUCCESSÂ
• Albie O'Connell is the first head coach to lead his alma mater to the Hockey East semifinals in his first year at the helm.
• He joins Tim Whitehead (UML, 1997) as the only men to lead their teams to Hockey East's championship weekend in their first-ever season as a head coach.Â
• Nate Leaman (PC, 2012) and Blaise McDonald (UML, 2002) led their teams to the Garden in their first seasons in Hockey East after serving as head coaches in other conferences.
• Jack Parker (BU), Len Ceglarski (BC), Mike McShane (PC) and Bill Riley Jr. (Lowell) were the four head coaches to reach the inaugural Hockey East semifinals in 1985. Â
SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the 238th meeting between the Terriers and Huskies since they first met during the 1930-31 season. The only team BU has played more games against is Boston College (279).
• The Terriers hold a 165-62-10 (.717) advantage, including wins in 13 of the past 20 meetings (13-5-2).

• Northeastern has a win against each of the top two teams in the PairWise (St. Cloud State, Massachusetts).
• The Huskies have benefited from impressive balance in their scoring thus far as 19 players have scored at least one goal.
• Junior Jeremy Davies - a 2018 First Team All-American - has leads the team in points (34) and assists (26).
• Seniors Liam Pecararo and Brandon Hawkins each have 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points apiece while freshman Tyler Madden has been impressive, racking up 27 points on 11 goals and 16 assists.Â

• Primeau ranks second nationally in save percentage at .935 and his goals-against average is 10th at 2.05.Â
IN THE BEANPOT
• Boston University had its run of four straight Beanpot title game appearances come to an end on as No. 13 Northeastern scored 51 seconds into overtime to take a 2-1 semifinal victory at TD Garden on Feb. 4.
• Junior Jake Oettinger was phenomenal in goal for the Terriers, making a season-high 47 saves – all in succession – as the Huskies scored on their first and last shots of the night.Â
• Freshman Joel Farabee scored BU's lone goal, tying the game late in the first period.Â
• The Terriers committed a costly turnover in the early stages as sophomore Cam Crotty was hooked from behind in the BU zone, resulting in a goal in the slot from a wide-open Patrick Schule at 3:14 of the first.
• After coming up short on back-to-back power plays, BU used Farabee's goal to get an equalizer before the end of the first.Â
• Farabee had two chances to put BU ahead in the second off breakaways but NU netminder Cayden Primeau was up the task each time.
• The Huskies pressured Oettinger and the Terrier defense throughout the third, putting up 24 shots in the frame and earning two power plays, but BU stood tall.
• Jeremy Davies forced a turnover in the early moments of overtime and hit Tyler Madden for a breakaway that he converted on a shot that went off Oettinger and through his legs to end the game.
BACK IN NOVEMBER
• The Terriers had a successful home-and-home series with crosstown rival Northeastern earlier this season, capped by a 4-1 home triumph on Nov. 3 for head coach Albie O'Connell's first win.
• In a game that featured four ties and leads by both teams, BU battled to a 5-5 draw with Northeastern on Nov. 1 at Matthews Arena.
• Five different Terriers scored in the opener, including junior Chad Krys, who potted his first goal of the season with 7:33 left in regulation on a power play to send the game to overtime.
• The Huskies scored two goals on their first four shots but the Terriers drew even with sophomore Logan Cockerill's first collegiate shorthanded goal and a tip-in by junior Patrick Curry.
• The Huskies quickly regained the lead, however, on a wrister from the right side at 4:31 of the second.
• BU scored twice in a span of 1:23 in the third to take the lead as junior Patrick Harper found freshman Joel Farabee in front before senior Bobo Carpenter tipped in an offering by sophomore David Farrance at 4:05.
• The Huskies then converted on a 5-on-3 power play and then scored on a partial breakaway to take a 5-4 lead midway through the third.
• BU ended an 0-for-21 power-play drought to create the fourth and final tie of the night as a right-point shot by Krys found the back of the net at 12:27.
• BU recorded 50 shots – 21 in the second period alone – while Northeastern had 34. It was the first time since Dec. 5, 2015 (5-3 win at Vermont) that the Terriers had at least 50 shots in a game.
• In all, 12 different Terriers recorded a point in the tie.
• On Saturday, junior Dante Fabbro scored the first two goals of the game and Krys had three assists. Junior Patrick Curry notched a shorthanded goal and a helper while senior Bobo Carpenter added his fourth goal of the season.Â
