Will Carson collected his first collegiate goal and also gathered two ground balls. Senior
Quintin Germain secured three ground balls and was one of five Terriers to cause a Colgate turnover. Junior
Joe McSorley made 13 saves and also had two ground balls. Sophomore
Sean Christman won six faceoffs and tallied five ground balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers opened the scoring with 10:43 left in the first quarter on an EMO when Ley caught a Gray pass at the crease and beat the goalkeeper.
- Burr made it 2-0 at 9:13 when he stepped into a shot from distance off a feed from Gray.
- Carson collected his first collegiate goal with 3:42 remaining in the quarter. Carson carried the ball into the box and fired a shot that Connor Mullen turned aside. Burr picked up the rebound and flipped it back to Carson at the crease, and the freshman defender converted to make it 3-0.
- Colgate scored with four seconds to play in the quarter to cut the deficit to 3-1. That sparked a 6-0 run to lift the Raiders to a 6-3 lead.
- Ley scored late in the second stanza to make it a 6-4 game at halftime.
- BU needed just seven seconds to open the scoring in the third quarter. Christman won the faceoff and dished the ball to Gray, who then quickly found Burr for the goal.
- Ley twice answered Colgate goals to keep the Terriers within one at 8-7 entering the fourth quarter.
- The Raiders extended their lead to 9-7 with 10:50 to play, and that proved to be the final goal of the game.
