BOSTON – Hosting No. 13 Navy in the regular season finale, the Boston University women's lacrosse team went toe-to-toe with the Mids, but could not pull off the upset as it fell 13-12 Thursday afternoon at Nickerson Field.
Down by four with 20 minutes to go, the Terriers stormed back into the game with a 5-2 run to come within one with 4:18 remaining. Navy pulled back ahead by two with 3:38 left, but the Terriers once again cut the gap to one with 16 seconds left. However, it would be too little too late as the Mids escaped with the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.
With the loss, BU will host a Patriot League Tournament quarterfinal game on Sunday, April 28 at 1 p.m.

- The Mids put in two strikes in the final 43 seconds of the frame to sneak into the break with a 5-4 edge.
- Navy worked a give-and-go in transition to reclaim its two-goal lead to kick off the second stanza, but Lewis had an answer as she one-timed a feed from Hannah Kenneally.
- Lewis stayed red-hot, working off a free position feed from Kaitlin Belval to tie it up at 6-6.
- The Mids spurted a 4-0 run in just over a two-minute span to take their largest lead of the game with 20 minutes to go.
- Once again, BU had an answer as Belval slotted her second score before Ava Barry dodged her way through six defenders to make it a two-goal game.
- Navy countered with two straight woman-up goals to pull back ahead by four with 10 minutes remaining.
- Barry and Irvine combined for the next three goals, putting BU within one, 12-11, with 4:18 to play.
- Belval forced a Navy turnover with 30 seconds left and Conry capitalized on the quick clear, giving BU a chance to tie it up for the third time with 16 seconds left.
- Navy would take the ensuing draw control on a violation to seal the game.
