BOSTON - Sophomore
Chris Gray notched five goals and four assists in a Patriot League quarterfinal for the second straight year as he helped the Boston University men's lacrosse team defeat Bucknell, 14-8, on Tuesday night at Nickerson Field.
BU (11-5) advanced to the conference semifinals for the third straight year with the victory and will face second-seeded Lehigh on Friday night in Baltimore at 8 p.m. This was the second consecutive season that BU defeated Bucknell (6-9) in the quarterfinal round.
Gray's first point of the night was also the 100th of the season; he became the first men's lacrosse player in Patriot League history to record a 100-point campaign and is the 18th different player in NCAA history to achieve that feat. Gray finished the game at 108 points on 48 goals and 60 assists thanks to his nine-point effort.

James Burr extended his goal scoring streak to a nation-long 33 games with a four-goal performance. All four markers came in the second half. The First Team All-Patriot League honoree also added an assist for a five-point night. Freshman

Chase Levesque once again shined at LSM, with Eddy collecting six ground balls and three caused turnovers while Levesque picked up seven ground balls in addition to a trio of caused turnovers. Sophomore
Michael Doxie, Gray and Ley all had two caused turnovers apiece as well, with Gray also recording three ground balls.

Sean Christman was terrific at the faceoff X, winning 15 of 26 draws and securing 12 ground balls. The Terriers combined for 53 ground balls on Tuesday and forced 13 of the Bison's 24 giveaways.
Junior
Joe McSorley made 15 saves and gathered three ground balls in another excellent effort. He made eight saves in the first half to limit the Bison to just one goal before stopping six shots in the fourth quarter to prevent a Bucknell comeback.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ley opened the scoring just 45 seconds into the proceedings before Gray added a second goal at 12:32 of the first quarter.
- Gray extended the lead to 3-0, but Bucknell answered to make it a two-goal game entering the second stanza.
- Gray converted an Eddy feed in transition to make it 4-1 at 11:52 of the quarter.
- That goal began a 7-0 run for the Terriers that included four goals in the second frame.
- Burr notched three unanswered goals in a span of 1:48 to begin the third quarter and give the Terriers a 10-1 advantage.
- Ley followed up a Bison goal with his third marker of the game to make it 11-2 with 9:24 to play in the quarter.
- The Bison closed the third period with two goals to cut the deficit to 11-4, but Gray and Carson scored just 20 seconds apart in the opening minute of the fourth quarter to regain a nine-goal lead.
- The Bison notched four straight goals, including a pair of man-up markers, to make it a 13-8 game, but time ran out and Burr eventually sealed it with his fourth goal of the game with 2:19 remaining in regulation.
