Four members of the Boston University women's openweight rowing team received 2019 Scholar-Athlete Award recognition by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), the organization announced this week.

Emma Quirk graduated in May with a 3.79 GPA in Earth & environmental science while
Kathryn Quirk held 3.91 GPA as a computer science major. Junior
Julia Vascotto holds a 3.80 GPA as a business administration and management Major, while sophomore
Lexi Wright maintained a 3.81 GPA in biochemistry.

Kathryn Quirk and Wright were all part of the Terriers varsity eight boat that advanced to the grand finals and won bronze at the Patriot League Championship in May while Vascotto was part of the second varsity eight boat that advanced to the grand finals and finished fourth, helping the Terriers finish in third place overall. Â

The CRCA awards recognize student-athletes who maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for their career and rowed in their institution's eligible boats for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races.
