BOSTON – Riding a three-game win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit defending Patriot League champion Colgate on Saturday with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.

The Terriers (4-1 PL) are coming off an 85-53 win at Loyola Maryland, while the Raiders are looking to bounce back from Wednesday's 71-67 loss at Lafayette.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Monday's win marked the largest margin of victory on the road against a Patriot League team since BU joined the conference in the summer of 2013 and the largest against a Division I opponent since a 91-54 win over Lafayette in the 2014 PL quarterfinals.
  • BU has won the last three games by a combined margin of 71 points, the most in a three-game streak since Nov. 2016 and the most in a three-game streak against Division I opponents since Feb. 2010, which included a 42-point victory over Binghamton.
  • Senior Max Mahoney (15.4 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.3 apg) is the reigning PL Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 ppg, 12.0 rpg and 7.0 apg in two home victories ... He was limited to nine points, five rebounds and two assists at Loyola due to foul trouble, but junior Sukhmail Mathon (5.6 ppg, 5.4 rpg) stepped up in the paint with 12 points and six boards.
  • Sophomore Walter Whyte is second on the team in points (12.9 ppg) and rebounds (6.8 rpg), while junior Javante McCoy (10.2 ppg) leads BU in assists (3.2 apg).
  • BU is averaging 71.6 ppg and 46.3 FG% while holding opponents to 68.4 ppg and 43.7 FG% ... On the road though, the offense overall has been shooting just 42.7 FG%.
SCOUTING COLGATE
  • Like BU (at South Carolina), the Raiders have an impressive major non-conference win (at Cincinnati) ... They shared one non-conference opponent, winning at Binghamton, who edged the Terriers in overtime.
  • Colgate is 22-1 over its last 23 games at Cotterell Court with the lone loss coming to the Terriers last February.
  • Reigning PL Player of the Year Rapolas Ivanauskas is averaging 13.2 ppg and 7.4 rpg, while fellow preseason All-PL member Jordan Burns is averaging 14.8 ppg and 4.2 apg.
  • Colgate is averaging 74.3 ppg and 44.9 FG% while holding opponents to 69.3 ppg and 44.3 FG%.
  • The Raiders are averaging 10.3 made 3FGs while holding opponents to 6.8 3FGs.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Terriers lead the all-time series, 28-22, dating back to 1933-34 after the two teams split in the regular season last year.
  • Colgate had the last word, overcoming a 12-point deficit early in the second half to eliminate BU in the quarterfinals, 81-69.
  • In the 76-68 road victory, BU shot 50.9 FG% and committed just six turnovers ... In the quarterfinal loss, the Terriers shot 49.1 FG% but had 20 turnovers that led to 30 Colgate points.
