Harper Named Hockey East Player of the Month

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - After leading the Boston University men's ice hockey to an undefeated December, senior Patrick Harper has been named the Hockey East Player of the Month, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Harper led BU to a pair of home wins over two ranked Beanpot rivals to close out the first half on a high note. The senior tallied five points (3g, 2a) and a plus-five rating over the two games. After a three-point night (1g, 2a) in a 5-2 win against the No. 9 Crimson, Harper added two goals in a 6-3 topping of the No. 8 Huskies.

Harper had the second-most points in the league in December, just one off the lead. His three goals tied for the league lead, while his 1.50 goals per game and 2.50 points per game were tops among all skaters.

This is the first-ever Hockey East monthly honor for Harper, who currently has 99 career points.

BU will officially kick off its second half on Wednesday (Jan. 8) when it hosts Brown. Game time at Agganis Arena is 7 p.m.
