BOSTON –  Taking Nickerson Field for its 2020 season opener, the Boston University women's lacrosse held tight with No. 5 Boston College, but saw the game slip away in the second half as it fell, 16-6, on Wednesday.

The Terriers and Eagles were tied up at 5-5 at the break, but BC end the game on a 9-0 run over the final 24 minutes of action.

  • Emily Vervlied and Lauren Kaye ripped solo strikes into the back of the net, furthering the run to 4-0 as the Terriers flipped the scoreboard in their favor, 5-3, with 10:29 remaining on the clock.
  • BC's Charlotte North was red-hot on the attack, scoring four times, including netting a pair to close the half to knot the score at 5-5.
  • The Eagles put in two more to start the second stanza until Lewis dodged solo to the cage from the top of the crease to make it a one-goal game, 7-6, five minutes into the frame.
  • BC's North continued her assault on the back of the net, roping back-to-back goals to open up a 9-0 Eagle run over the final 24 minutes of regulation.
