BOSTON - The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams are set to compete at the Patriot League Indoor Championship which will be held at Lehigh University's Rauch Field House from Saturday, Feb. 29 - Sunday, March 1.
The competition will begin with the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon on Saturday morning at 9:00am. Field events are scheduled to begin at 11am on Saturday with the men's pole vault while the first track event will be the men's 60m hurdles at 1pm. The action will continue on Sunday beginning at 10am and conclude at 2:30 pm with the women's 4x400 relay.

TERRIERS TO WATCH – WOMEN
The women's team will be looking for its third PL championship in seven years and will be led by a deep group of distance runner. Sophomore
Andrea Claeson, freshman
Sophia Jacobs-Townsley and junior
Corinne Batsu will compete in the 3000m as the one, two and three seeds respectively. Claeson posted the fastest 3K time in the Patriot League this year with a time of 9:46.60 at the BU David Hemery Valentine Open on Feb. 14. Jacobs-Townsley owns the second-fastest 3K with a time of 9:48.00 at the BU Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite on Feb. 1. Batsu enters with the third-fastest 3K time (9:48.32) and gives the Terriers a real chance at sweeping the event.
Jacbobs-Townsley will also be the No. 1 seed in the 5K after running a 16:35.75 at the BU David Hemery Valentine Open on Feb. 14. Her time is the fastest run in the PL this year by 37 seconds.
In addition, freshman
Joceline Wind will compete in the 800m run looking to cap her terrific indoor rookie campaign. Wind was named PL Track Athlete of the Week back on Feb. 4 after recording an ECAC-qualifying time of 2:47.62 in the 1000m run which very nearly broke the BU school record of 2:47.40, set by Donna Adomoli way back in 1987.
Senior
Ava Gruzen will look to medal in the women's pentathlon. Gruzen took home silver in the heptathlon at last year's PL Outdoor Championship. In addition, senior
Gillian Morrison returns and will also compete in the pentathlon, hoping to regain her title which she won back in 2018 as a sophomore.
Junior
Bridget Chiaravalle will look to defend her PL indoor title in the 60m hurdles.
TERRIERS TO WATCH – MEN
On the men's side, the Terriers will once again look to senior
Paul Luevano who enters the meet with the fastest time on the 800m run (1:50.64). In addition to the 800m, Luevano will also compete in the mile.
Senior sprinter
Chiebuka Onwuzurike enters the meet with the second-fastest time in the 60m dash (6.82) and the second-best time on the 200m dash (21.32).
Junior
Brett Davidson will look to medal in the 5000m run as he enters ended the year with the fourth-fastest time in the event with a mark of 14:31.25 which he ran at the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Jan. 24th.
Freshman
Foster Malleck will compete in the mile run as the No. 2 seed with a time of 4:06.48 he ran at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Feb. 14. Malleck is also scheduled to meet in the 3000m.
Marcel Aubrey will compete in the 800m run. Aubrey currently has the second-fastest PL time in the 1000m with a time of 2:25. 62 he ran at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White on Feb. 1
After this weekend's conference championship, BU Track & Field will return home to host the IC4A/ECAC Championships at the TTC on March 6-8.
