BOSTON – After honoring seniors Max Mahoney and Adam Mikula, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Bucknell on Saturday with tip-off slated for 12 p.m.

Currently in a tie for second in the Patriot League standings with one game left, the Terriers need a win over the Bison and for American to lose to Holy Cross to grab the No. 2 seed for next week's conference tournament. BU has already clinched a home quarterfinal game set for Thursday (March 5) against either the No. 3 seed or the No. 7/10 game.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • A two-time All-PL honoree, Mahoney will graduate from BU as the record holder in career field goal shooting percentage ... He currently sits at 60.5 FG%, well ahead of Jim Hayes' 56.3 FG%, while also ranking No. 4 in made field goals (620) and No. 8 in points (1,492).
  • Mahoney (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg) leads the Terriers during league play in scoring (15.2 ppg), rebounding (8.8 rpg), assists (3.2 apg) and steals (1.4 spg) while adding a team-high 11 blocks.
  • Previously named to the NABC Honors Court and the PL Academic Honor Roll for owning a GPA above 3.20, Mikula worked his way from team manager his freshman year to taking a roster spot as a sophomore.
  • Sophomore Walter Whyte (12.7 ppg, 7.3 rpg) joined Mahoney in posting a double-double on Wednesday with his fourth in six contests ... The Terriers are 0-3 this season when both men post a double-double in the same game following 57-55 OT loss to Lehigh.
  • Ranking second on the team in PL games at 14.1 ppg while adding team-high 3.3 apg, junior Javante McCoy became the 39th Terrier to reach the 1,000-point milestone at Lehigh.
  • The Terriers are 9-3 at The Roof this season following last Sunday's come-from-behind win over American.
  • As a team, BU is averaging 71.3 ppg and 45.8 FG% while holding opponents to 67.1 ppg and 43.8 FG%.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
