BOSTON – Riding a four-game win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will open a two-game homestand against in-state rival Holy Cross on Saturday with tip-off slated for 1 p.m.

The Terriers most recently snapped Army's six-game win streak, 80-66, back on Wednesday and sit one game behind Monday's opponent Colgate, who sits atop the standings at 9-2. The Crusaders are 2-9 in conference play but have proven to be dangerous with a 63-61 win over a Navy squad that triumphed at BU in overtime back in January.

Saturday's matchup will be part of the annual Turnpike Trophy series featuring the two schools. BU currently owns a 7-2 advantage this year will three total points up for grabs on Saturday, as the women's basketball and women's ice hockey programs will also face off.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • On Wednesday, senior Max Mahoney became the seventh Terrier to reach 1,400+ points and 600+ rebounds ... He leads the team in both categories at 15.4 ppg and 7.6 rpg.
  • Sophomore Walter Whyte is second in both at 12.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg but has the slight edge in conference-only games over Mahoney's 8.0 rpg at 8.1.
  • Junior Javante McCoy (11.7 ppg) has been a key contributor in league play at 14.7 ppg while combing with Mahoney for 7.5 apg.
  • Junior Andrew Petcash (4.6 ppg) flushed three 3-pointers at Army on Wednesday and is one of three alongside Whyte and sophomore Jonas harper (7.3 ppg) to average more than one trey a game.
  • As a team, BU is averaging 72.7 ppg and 46.6 FG% while holding opponents to 68.1 ppg and 44.2 FG% ... The Terriers' last seven wins have all been by double digits.
SCOUTING HOLY CROSS
  • Led by first-year head coach and former Marquette associate Brett Nelson, the Crusaders are 1-12 away from the Hart Center, most recently dropping an 81-66 decision at Navy for the season split ... They posted an 81-67 win over Mercer on a neutral court back on Dec. 2.
  • Owner of six Patriot League Rookie of the Week awards, 6-foot-5 forward Joe Pridgen leads the Crusaders at 16.1 ppg and 6.8 rpg.
  • 6-foot-5 guard Austin Butler is second in both categories at 12.1 ppg and 6.4 rpg.
  • The Crusaders are averaging 67.3 ppg and 43.8 FG% while holding opponents to 79.9 ppg and 49.8 FG%.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Crusaders lead the all-time, 54-22, but the Terriers are 10-3 since joining the Patriot League in the summer of 2013.
  • BU won the first meeting at the Hart Center, 79-64 ... HC went on 14-0 run to cut the Terriers' lead to 47-45 early in the second half before BU went on 9-0 run to pull away.
  • Mahoney had 18 pts., six rebs. and six asts., while Whyte had a double-double (12 pts., 10 rebs.).
