BOSTON – The Boston University men's basketball team will conclude a five-game homestand with a pair of contests against Army West Point at Case Gym this weekend. The ESPN+ broadcasts are slated to begin at 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Playing four games in seven days, the Terriers (1-3) opened the season with an 83-76 win at Holy Cross but then dropped three straight at home with a 68-66 loss to the Crusaders and two defeats to Colgate, 86-79 and 89-45. They will look to bounce back against a Black Knight (6-3, 2-2 PL) squad that started conference play with a split against both Holy Cross and Colgate following notable non-conference wins over Buffalo and La Salle. Army suffered a similar 44-point defeat to the Raiders (101-57) in the league opener and then bounced back with a 75-73 win.

Senior Sukhmail Mathon earned his second career double-double on Sunday against Colgate with a team-high 13 points and 11 rebounds. Through four games, he is averaging a personal-best 11.5 ppg while ranking in the six for five Patriot League categories, including FG% (4th, 60.0) and rebounding (t-4th, 7.3 rpg). Classmate Javante McCoy leads BU at 16.0 ppg, while redshirt-freshman Daman Tate (10.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg) owns a PL-high 66.7 3FG% by shooting 8-of-12 from behind the arc.

Junior and 2020-21 Preseason All-PL honoree Walter Whyte made his first two appearances of the season last weekend and is averaging 12.5 ppg with a team-high 8.0 rpg. He's helped the Terriers lead the PL at 40.2 rpg with a +6.0 rebounding margin. BU is shooting 40.1 FG% and 72.1 FT% for the season while opponents are averaging 49.0 FG% and 62.2 FT%.

Army features three men in double figures with Lonnie Grayson (4.7 rpg) leading the way at 12.2 ppg. Both Alex King (11.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg) and Josh Caldwell (11.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg) are both shooting over 50 percent from the field, as Army averages 73.1 ppg and 46.0 FG% while holding opponents to 67.8 ppg and 43.3 FG%. BU owns a 19-11 lead in the all-time series dating back to 1955 after winning both matchups last season, including 81-59 home win en route to the PL title.
