Men's Soccer to Host Colgate in Soc'toberFest Clash Saturday Afternoon

BOSTON – The Boston University men's soccer team will open a two-game homestand by welcoming Colgate to Nickerson Field on Saturday with action slated to begin at 5 p.m.
As part of Soc'toberFest, fans will be able to enjoy a cash bar (21+), hot pretzels and a free Razor scooter raffle. The contest is also the team's Pride Week game and will have free BU pride decals for fans while supplies last.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
- Following a 1-0 conference-opening win over Navy, the Terriers dropped four straight before grinding out a 1-1 draw at American last Saturday.
- Junior Ronaldo Marshall netted his second goal of the season in the 79th minute against the Eagles with assistance from junior Miles Dycaico and freshman Brian Hernandez.
- Both Marshall and Hernandez are tied for first on the team with five points off two goals and an assist.
- Junior Quinn Matulis also has two goals with sophomore Andrew Rent earning the other goal at Harvard on Oct. 5.
- Junior Francesco Montali has started eight of 11 games at net, posting a .681 save percentage and 1.82 goals against average.
- Opponents are averaging five more shots per game with a 67-41 advantage in corner kicks.
- Coming off a 2-0 defeat at Cornell, the Raiders are still seeking their first win of the season, having been shut out 11 times.
- Colgate has dropped five one-goal decisions, including a 1-0 defeat to then-No. 20 New Hampshire and PL losses to Bucknell and Lafayette.
- Both Max Edelstein and Ryan Krueger have found the back of the net with Aidan Davock and Drew Fischer owning an assist.
- Nick Gerlach has started nine games, earning a .710 save percentage and 1.91 goals against average.
- Opponents are averaging seven more shots per game with a 67-43 advantage in corner kicks.
- BU is 8-3-2 all-time in the series dating back to 1979 after scoring three second-half goals for the 3-0 road win this past March.
- Senior Michael Stone and sophomore Andrew Wike combined for five saves for the shutout.
- The Terriers prevailed in OT in the last home meeting in 2019 with a 2-1 victory, as Satchel Cortet headed in the game winner.
- BU will have a quick turnaround and host Northeastern on Tuesday (Oct. 19) with a 6 p.m. start.
- After claiming a 3-0 home win in 2016, the Terriers are looking to snap a three-game winless streak with two of those contests going to double OT.
