Gallagher Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Freshman Ty Gallagher of the Boston University men's ice hockey team was named Hockey East Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Gallagher had a career night in Saturday's 8-6 win over Merrimack, as he collected three assists, including the primary helper on classmate Brian Carrabes' game-winning goal. He led the Terriers as a plus-4 on the weekend and also blocked two shots.
A seventh-round selection of the Boston Bruins in the 2021 NHL Draft, Gallagher has recorded four assists and is tied for the team lead with nine blocked shots. His first assist came on the Terriers' first goal of the year in their season-opening win at UConn on Oct. 8.
BU will begin a home-and-home series with UMass Lowell on Friday night at Agganis Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets for that contest by clicking here.
