Terriers Hit the Road Friday to Begin Home-and-Home Series with Merrimack

The Boston University women's ice hockey team will begin a home-and-home series with Merrimack on Friday afternoon at Lawler Rink before concluding the weekend set on Saturday at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop on Friday is set for 2 p.m., with the teams to skate in Boston on Saturday at 3.

Effective Oct. 15, 2021, all guests 12 years and older will be required to present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a qualifying negative COVID-19 test to gain access to Agganis Arena and the Case Center for ice hockey and basketball games. TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU has not played since defeating then-No. 10 Boston College, 5-4, on Nov. 21.
  • Five different Terriers lit the lamp that day, including leading scorer Courtney Correia, who notched the game-winner with 3:47 remaining in regulation.
  • Correia leads the Terriers and is third in Hockey East with 15 points thanks to six assists and a team-high eight goals.
  • Her eight goals are tied for second in the league.
  • Junior Julia Nearis is tied for third in Hockey East with a team-best 10 assists and is tied for fourth in the league with 14 points.
  • Senior Emma Wuthrich is on a three-game point streak and has notched a goal in each of the last two games.

HISTORY WITH MERRIMACK

  • The Terriers are 11-2-5 against the Warriors over the last eight seasons, including a 5-1-3 record at Walter Brown Arena and a 5-1-2 mark at Lawler Rink.
  • BU has not lost to Merrimack since a 2-1 defeat at Walter Brown on Sept. 23, 2017.
  • The Terriers are 5-0-5 against the Warriors during that span.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS

  • Merrimack last played on Tuesday, suffering a 3-0 setback to Providence.
  • The Warriors have lost four of their last five, all of which have been against Hockey East foes.
  • Junior defender Teghan Inglis leads Merrimack in goals (8) and points (12).
  • Senior Courtney Maud is first on the squad with seven assists and is third on the team with 10 points, behind both Inglis and junior Katie Kaufman (7g, 4a).
  • Junior goaltender Emma Gorski has played all 18 games, going 5-11-1 with a 2.89 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage.
