Joe Jones to be Featured in NESN’s Latest "My Story" Episode Tuesday Night

February 15, 2021

BOSTON – Boston University men's basketball head coach Joe Jones will be spotlighted in a new episode of NESN's series My Story on Tuesday night.

Set to premiere at 8 p.m. ET, the 30-minute special will chronicle the lives and coaching careers of both Joe Jones and his older brother, 22nd-year Yale men's basketball head coach James Jones.

A Long Island native, Joe Jones is currently in his 10th season with the Terriers after leading them to the 2020 Patriot League tournament title and 2014 PL regular season title. Named PL Coach of the Year by HoopsHD.com in 2020 and NBCSports.com in 2016, he previously spent seven seasons as the head coach at Columbia from 2003-10.

Both brothers were named finalists last spring for the Ben Jobe Award, which is given annually to the top minority coach in Division I men's basketball. Though the two haven't faced off against each other in a regular season game since Joe left Columbia, the two did meet most recently in the 2018 Reese's College All-Star Game during the Final Four weekend at the Alamodome. Joe led the West Squad to a 98-94 victory. The duo have combined for 581 career wins with Joe just two away from 250 (162 at BU).

NESN will share the brothers' story as part of its celebration of Black History Month. For more information on NESN's programming during the month of February, visit www.NESN.com/BlackHistoryMonth.
