Ley, Garber Garner Patriot League Weekly Awards

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Juniors Matt Garber and Timmy Ley were honored by the Patriot League on Monday for their standout performances against Holy Cross, with Garber garnering Goalkeeper of the Week honors and Ley earning a nod as Offensive Player of the Week.

Both players were instrumental in the Terriers' 16-6 victory at Holy Cross on Friday night. Garber got the game ball after he made 15 saves in 55 minutes of work, allowing just five goals. He was particularly strong in the first half, as he made seven saves and helped hold Holy Cross scoreless for a stretch of 30:24, allowing the Terriers to end the half on an 11-0 run. Garber currently ranks 11th in the NCAA and third in the Patriot League in both save percentage (.615) and goals-against average (8.23). He has made at least 12 saves in three of his four starts this season.

Ley set a new single-game program record on Friday when he scored seven goals as part of his career-best nine-point night. He factored on six of the Terriers' 11 goals in the first half, chipping in four goals and two assists before adding three more markers in the second half. Ley extended his goal scoring streak to 19 games on Friday and he now ranks second in the nation with an average of 5.0 goals per game. The Massapequa, New York, native leads the Terriers with 20 goals and 24 points this season.

BU is scheduled to continue its season on Saturday, March 20, when the Terriers host Colgate at Nickerson Field.
