HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ley answered an early Colgate goal when he worked from behind the cage before pivoting past a defender and finishing outside the crease to tie the game at 1-1.
- Colgate capped a 3-0 run with a man-up goal to pull ahead, 4-1, with 5:55 to play in the opening frame.
- D'Alto and Ley went for back-to-back solo strikes within a 37-second span to cut the gap to one, but the Raiders went on their own 2-0 run to take a 6-3 edge at the end of the first quarter.
- Colgate tacked on another pair of scores before Ley caught Colgate goalkeeper Sean Collins (15 saves) sleeping on the clear and slashed the ball out of his stick. Perfetto was in perfect position for the scoop and score to spark a 3-0 run to end the half.
- Ley and McFarland each snapped the back of the net as part of that run that cut the gap to 8-6 heading into the break.
- Bourque and D'Alto kept the Terriers within one until D'Alto five-holed the keeper to tie the score, 9-9, with 5:20 left in the third.
- Colgate briefly retook the lead, but Hilburn was timely with his first goal of the season on an EMO to knot it at 10-10 as the third quarter came to a close.
- Perfetto found Forziati in front of the crease for the go-ahead goal just 24 seconds into the fourth frame before Niedringhaus and Perfetto furthered the lead to three, 13-10, with 10:38 to play.
- The Raiders got back within two with a goal in transition, but Ley delivered a highlight-reel behind-the-back goal to keep the Raiders from getting any closer.
- Quadrino and Bourque closed out the game with unassisted markers to finalize the 16-11 score.
