Terriers Compete at Army West Point

WEST POINT, NY – The Boston University men's and women's track & field team took on Army West Point on Friday at Shea Stadium in West Point, N.Y., in their final meet before the Patriot League Outdoor Championship. 
 
Senior Logan Broedner had a great performance in the 3000m steeplechase, winning he event with time of 9:18.24, a new personal best.  
 
On the women's side,  Andrea Claeson won the 1500m with a time of 4:27.75 while sprinter Cecelia Gerstenbacher won the 200m dash with a time of 25.61.
 
In the field, a number of throwers continued to set personal records. Dave Vovor set a PR in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.60m (139' 9").
 
Freshman Emma Kowalski continued her fine rookie season, winning the hammer throw with a personal best throw of 52.73m (173' 0").

NOTABLE PERFORMERS - MEN
  • Logan Broedner had a great performance in the 3000m steeplechase, winning he event with time of 9:18.24, a new personal best. 
  • Foster Malleck finished first in the 1500m with a time of 3:51.88.  
  • Uchenna Nwosu finished second in the 100m dash with a time of 11.04 while Riley Sasaki took third (11.40). 
  • Adam Crawford finished second in the javelin with a throw of 56.85m (186' 6"). 
  • Haig Rickerby finished sixth in the 800m run with a time of 1:59.10.  
  • Madeline Bachmann took third in the 800m run with a time of 2:17.07, a personal best. 
  • Bachmann also set a PR in the 2500m, finishing sixth with a tine of 4:43.50. 
  • Kevin Murphy took second in the 5000m with a time of 14:49.78. 
  • Uchenna Nwosu competed in the 200m dash and finished with a time of 23.30. 
  • Dave Vovor set a PR in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.60m (139' 9") while Fred Lu set a PR of 14.05m (46' 1.25") in the same event.

The Terriers will return to West Point to compete in the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championship on April 30 - May 1.
