
Terriers Announce Award Winners for 2020-21 Season

BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team announced its annual award winners at a virtual banquet on May 23.
Jesse Compher was selected as the team's most valuable player after leading BU in goals (7) and points (11). She was chosen as a Hockey East Second Team All-Star and was invited to the 2021 U.S. Women's National Team Selection Camp that starts today.
Mackenna Parker received the Friends of Women's Ice Hockey's Unsung Hero Award. Parker, who shined in all situations, tallied four goals and two assists for six points in the shortened season. She always did the little things and is someone the team could count on all year to compete at a high level.
Julia Shaunessy was chosen as the most improved player. She capped her strong rookie season by scoring her first two collegiate goals in the Hockey East quarterfinals. Shaunessy appeared in all 12 games and got better and better in all three zones throughout the year.
Nicole McGuigan won the Caroline Bourdeau Spirit Award. Her infectious, positive attitude coupled with an outstanding work ethic made a difference during a challenging year. The Academic Award was split between Rachel Allen and Kaleigh Donnelly, who each recorded a 3.89 GPA. Kate Stuart claimed the Strength & Conditioning Award. She always had a positive mindset during training and took advantage of time on and off the ice to improve her game.
