McNulty, Braun Collect Patriot League Weekly Awards

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Boston University women's soccer program added two more weekly league honors on Monday morning, with junior Abigail McNulty selected as the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore Celia Braun earning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week honors.
McNulty receives her second Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, with her first coming back on Aug.29. She joins teammate Amy Thompson as the only two Patriot League student-athletes to garner the honor multiple times this season. A Terrier has now picked up the award four times this season, a league-high.
The Stow, Mass. native tallied three points in BU's 2-0 week. The junior scored the game-winning goal in the 16th minute at No. 25 Harvard to hand the Crimson, who were one of seven previously unbeaten programs in the nation and ninth in the RPI, its first loss. In the Terrier win over American, she set up the game-winning goal with the primary assist in the 59th minute.
McNulty now has a team-best four assists along with three goals this year. She ranks second on the team with 10 points, and tied for third with three goals. Four of her points have come in the last four matches.
Meanwhile, Braun wins her first-career Patriot League weekly award, becoming the first Terrier to be named Goalkeeper of the Week since Amanda Fay on Oct. 29, 2018. With her honor, BU has had a winner in all five Patriot League weekly award categories this season.
Braun was part of two Terrier shutouts in a 2-0 week, making 10 saves against 29 total shots. On Tuesday, she made nine saves against 27 total shots in BU's 1-0 win at No. 25 Harvard. She followed that up with a save in the first half at American in BU's 1-0 victory.
Across her last six appearances, Braun has not allowed a goal in her last 353:24. Starting in all 10 games she's appeared in, she has registered a 1.00 goals-against average and an .813 save percentage in 540 minutes.
BU (8-6, 3-1 PL) ends its three-game road swing with a trek to Holy Cross on Wednesday (Oct. 12). Opening kick is set for 7 p.m.
