BOSTON - Freshman
Jeremy Wilmer's third-period strike forced overtime, but No. 14/13 UConn scored in the extra session to skate away with a 4-3 win over the No. 9/11 Boston University men's ice hockey team on Friday night at Agganis Arena.

Jamie Armstrong notching a goal and an assist for the first two-point night of his collegiate career. Junior

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UConn opened the scoring just 5:21 into the proceedings, but McCarthy evened the score at 9:42 of the first when his shot from the top of the zone had eyes for the back of the net.
- Duplessis kept the game tied shortly after McCarthy's goal with a sensational save on a breakaway bid by Justin Pearson midway through the frame.
- Armstrong gave the Terriers a 2-1 lead when he snapped a shot from the slot past Logan Terness (24 saves).
- The Huskies tied the score with a power-play marker at 6:29 of the second period.
- Duplessis made 16 saves in the second stanza to keep the Terriers in the contest.
- UConn grabbed a 3-2 lead 2:04 into the final frame when Tristan Fraser capitalized on a favorable bounce after he won an offensive-zone draw.
- Wilmer equalized on a power play with 6:19 remaining in regulation. Peterson carried the puck into the zone and drove to the net. After a couple bounces, the puck ended up behind Terness. Wilmer located the puck first and banked it off Terness' pads and into the back of the net.
- BU outshot UConn, 12-5, in the third period but regulation ended without a winner.
- In overtime, BU controlled play during the first shift, but UConn gained control of the puck and Andrew Lucas fired home the winner just 56Â seconds into the 3-on-3 period.
GAME NOTES
- UConn had killed 26 straight penalties to open the season prior to Wilmer's third-period strike.
- McCarthy and Armstrong became the 11th and 12th different Terriers, respectively, to score a goal this season.
- BU has had at least two different goal scorers in all four games this year.
- Both squads went 1-for-5 on the power play Friday night.
- The Terriers have tallied at least one power-play goal in all four tilts this year.
- Duplessis' seven-game win streak came to an end.
