The No. 7/6 Boston University men's ice hockey team will make the short trip down Commonwealth Avenue on Friday night to face Boston College in the 288th edition of the Battle of Comm. Ave. Puck drop in Chestnut Hill is scheduled for 7 p.m., with the game nationally televised on ESPNEWS. Additionally, the contest will be streamed on ESPN+, with an audio-only broadcast located here

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU enters the weekend on a four-game win streak after a sweep of New Hampshire on Dec. 2-3.
  • The Terriers earned a 6-3 road win last Friday before junior goaltender Vinny Duplessis stopped all 22 shots he faced in a 3-0 victory the next night at Agganis Arena.
  • Senior captain Domenick Fensore, the reigning Hockey East Player of the Week, scored three goals against the Wildcats, including both game-winners, as part of his four-point weekend.
  • Fensore, who will play in his 100th game on Friday, has scored in all four wins during the Terriers' win streak, totaling five goals and two assists for seven points in that span.
  • Freshman Lane Hutson, who had three assists in Friday's win at UNH, repeated as Hockey East Defender of the Month.
  • Hutson is tied for fourth among NCAA defensemen with 17 points thanks to six goals and 11 assists.
  • He was named to Team USA's preliminary roster for the World Junior Championship and will head to training camp after this weekend.
  • Freshman Ryan Greene earned an invite to Canada's training camp for its national junior team and will miss both games this weekend.
  • Senior Matt Brown leads BU in goals (7) and points (18), and is tied atop the team leaderboard with 11 assists.
  • The Terriers average 3.86 goals per game, which is tops in Hockey East and fourth-most in the NCAA.
  • They also average 36.4 shots on goal per game, which ranks second in the country and first in Hockey East.
  • BU outshot New Hampshire, 43-22, in Saturday's 3-0 win, marking the fifth time in the last seven games that the Terriers generated over 40 shots on goal.
  • Since Nov. 1, BU has allowed just 1.85 goals per game, which ranks fifth in the nation.

  • Reigning Hockey East Rookie of the Month Cutter Gauthier leads BC in goals (8) and points (12) while junior Nikita Nesterenko is tops on the team with eight assists.
  • Nesterenko (3g, 8a) is tied with classmates Colby Ambrosio (5g, 6a) and Trevor Kuntar (5g, 6a) for second on the squad in points, as all three have 11 points this season.
  • Graduate student Mitch Benson has started all 14 games for BC this season, posting a 5-5-4 record with a 2.69 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
