BU, Northeastern to Meet Monday in 69th Beanpot Title Game

The Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue its 100th season on Monday at TD Garden when the Terriers face Northeastern in the 69th Beanpot title game. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., with the game to be televised live on NESN and NHL Network.

BEANPOT NOTES

  • The most successful team in Beanpot history, BU boasts an all-time record of 92-45 (.669).
  • The Terriers are 33-11 (.767) versus Northeastern.
  • BU has advanced to the championship game 55 times, including six of the last seven tournaments, its best stretch since a 13-year run from 1995-2007.
  • The Terriers are in the Beanpot title game for the 32nd time in the last 38 tournaments.
  • This is the third time in the last four tournaments that BU and Northeastern have met in the championship game, with the Huskies defeating BU for the title in 2018 and 2020.
  • The Terriers defeated the Huskies, 4-3, in overtime to win their last Beanpot in 2015.

  • BU extended its win streak to six games with a 4-1 victory at No. 17 Providence on Thursday.

  • Juniors Domenick Fensore (2a) and Wilmer Skoog (1g, 1a) each posted two points for the second straight game in the win at Providence, with Skoog scoring the game-winner.

  • Freshman T.J. Semptimhelter, who made 41 saves in the Huskies' 3-1 win over BC last Monday, is 3-1-0 in his four starts since taking over for Levi, posting a 2.09 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage.
  • Aidan McDonough (17g, 7a) leads Northeastern with 25 points thanks to his team-best 17 goals.
  • Sam Colangelo (8g, 12a) and assist leader Justin Hryckowian (6g, 14a) are tied for second with 20 points apiece.
