ATHENS, Ga. – The Boston University softball team concluded the Red & Black Showcase with a 9-1 loss to Delaware on Sunday morning at Georgia's Jack Turner Stadium.
The Blue Hens (5-4) scored at least one run in five of the six innings and finished with 13 total hits, including three homers, against BU's four pitchers to avenge Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Terriers (3-6). Freshman
Tyesha Williams became the ninth player to earn an RBI this season with a single, while both sophomore
Kayla Roncin (double) and graduate student
Jen Horita (single) collected a hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Blue Hens took the lead for good in the bottom half with a pair of singles and RBI sac fly against junior Lizzy Avery (1-3).
- Delaware blew open the game in the third with four runs off four hits, including an RBi double and two-run homer.
- Trying to mount a rally, Horita led off the fourth with a bunt single, took second on senior Nicole Amodio's walk and scored on Williams' RBI single.
- Julz Garber though responded with a solo homer in each of the next two innings, and Delaware ended the game with a two-out RBI double in the sixth.
